Physical Testing

Tensile

A common mechanical test that is performed by pulling a specimen at a set rate to its breaking point and measuring the force associated with pulling it. It is used to find out how strong a material is and how much it can be stretched before it breaks. Measurements that can be obtained include Ultimate Tensile Strength, Yield Strength, Modulus, Elongation at Yield, and Elongation at Break.
